Explore the River Wye

The River Wye rises in the Cambrian Mountains and flows between the Black Mountains and the Radnorshire Hills before meandering through a broad floodplain, passing through some narrows and then entering a wide valley with high banks upstream of the Canoefest base at Ross-on-Wye. From our site the river enters “perhaps the most dramatic section, with spectacular views and deep wooded gorges down to Chepstow” – where it enters the Severn Estuary.

The Environment Agency has a published guide.
